This Week in Dating (45) – Blackmailing

Blackmailing is not a funny thing – and what we experienced last week, it happened to a lot of rich (and even some not-so-rich) women in Germany and Switzerland who where contacted by a Swiss gigolo, and have been blackmailed thereafter. Regarding the sum (the press reported that 7 Million Euros have been paid in one case) it was a sensation for the entire press – however, the English, Swiss and German press showed different reactions.

The worst articles have been published in the UK where newspapers wrote about a “Jewish grandfather“ oft the blackmailer, which may be called “playing the Nazi card“ again. The German Press new few – only the “Suddeutsche Zeitung“ had some facts from Italy, and – just to mention it, the people with real knowledge of the case are obviously Swiss – so the Swiss “Tagesanzeiger“ and their journalist Romeo Regenass discovered a lot of facts about the case.

But – this case is only the tip of an iceberg, as adult dating is becoming more popular nowadays, blackmailing will increase. Even the Stasinin the old GDR was intereseted in such things – so you can imagine, how the matreial had been used.

Once they sang in a W.C. Handy blues; “if Beal Street could talk, married men would have to take their beds and walk“. Nowadays, all hotel rooms can talk – you just need a subminiature camera – and woman and men who are cheating at their partners should know about that. Minature cameras have been used in the strange case of Mr. Mosley, but the newspaper claimed that only detectives and secret service agents have such cameras – which is untrue.

Anyway – love is a risk – and you must face it. No pain – no gain. It was quite interesting, what a Swiss psychologist said about it.

So what else happened? A lot of useless press releases, as always. I sincerely doubt, that most of our German would move to another city just to be with their love – but an immense percentage (72%) claimed to do this in case it would be reasonable.

Not to many facts this week? No – not really. Dating is a hard business – and there are far to many newcomers aka startups in the market. I mean – there is one thing everyone must know – you need customers – not just marketing specialists.
